Exploring World Religions Through Research and Collaboration
As part of their Religious Education lessons, our Year 6 pupils worked alongside their homeroom teachers to explore the world’s major religions.
Working in pairs, pupils researched the religions with the largest numbers of followers worldwide, explored their core beliefs and key principles, and presented their findings in a slideshow.
Throughout the project, pupils developed important research and learning skills. They learned to:
Find and select relevant information from different sources.
Take organised notes and summarise key information in their own words.
Evaluate the reliability of sources and distinguish trustworthy information.
Organise their findings into clear, structured presentations.
Communicate their research confidently and effectively to an audience.
Collaborate, share responsibilities and make decisions as a team.
Beyond developing their research and presentation skills, pupils deepened their understanding of religious diversity and the beliefs and traditions that shape people’s lives around the world.
By learning about different religions, our pupils develop the knowledge, critical thinking and respect needed to understand different perspectives, appreciate diversity and contribute to a more inclusive world.
